It is the ambivalence between fascination and unease in the face ofomnipresent aesthetics – the invisible violence, the absurdity ofthe everyday, and the awareness of being part of this constructoneself. Defiant pensioners, privileged sons,and Meggie the giant sloth speak of life in the shadow of grandnarratives – of the blur between preservation and paralysis. Theirstories revolve around tactile experiences, colonial entanglements,uncertain lighting conditions, and nature as a mirror of social powerrelations.
ATH is a homage to the b-rollshots– those in-between moments that open up spaces, condenseatmospheres, and play with the seemingly identical.
